
Sydney Wright-Schaner
Sydney is Counsel at Schaner & Lubitz, where her practice focuses on representing tax-exempt organizations in the corporate and tax aspects of transactions, including venture philanthropy transactions, regulatory and governance matters
Sydney has substantial private practice and in-house experience advising investment managers and corporate clients on a broad range of transactional and regulatory matters, including as Legal Counsel at Sands Capital Management, where she primarily advised on legal matters affecting the firm’s public equity investment strategies; at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, where she counseled prominent private fund sponsors on fund formation, structuring, and ongoing operations; and at Foley & Lardner LLP, where she represented public and private companies in mergers and acquisitions, financings, joint ventures, employment and restrictive covenant matters, and other general corporate work.
Sydney received her J.D., cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center, where she served as Managing Notes Editor of the Georgetown Journal of Legal Ethics and was awarded The Saint Thomas More Award. She received her B.A., magna cum laude, from Hamilton College.
