David Lubitz
David has been practicing law for more than thirty years. He represents non-profits, commercial enterprises, and individuals. Much of his practice is in the health care industry. His practice includes advising on and negotiating contracts, venture philanthropy transactions, structuring complex research and development collaborations, litigation, regulatory and industry compliance, internal investigations, entity formation, governance and revenue generation, non-profit tax issues, intellectual property, data privacy, employment matters and charitable gifts. He serves as legal counsel to numerous non-profit disease foundations.
David has experience at all federal and state court levels and representing clients before U.S. government agencies, including the Internal Revenue Service, the Offices of Inspector General to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the U.S. Office of Personnel Management, the U.S. Department of Justice, and in a Congressional investigation.
David was a partner at two large law firms in Washington, D.C. before forming Schaner & Lubitz. He began his career as a law clerk to a United States District Judge. He has worked as a lawyer for the Legal Aid Society in New York City, a supervisor and trainer for a U.S. non-governmental organization providing legal systems development services in Cambodia, and supervisor of a law firm pro bono program.
